Goalkeeper Cristiano Lupatelli has joined Fiorentina on a one-year contract, but it does not block La Viola’s move for Emiliano Viviano.
The much-travelled veteran shot-stopper has agreed to a short-term deal with the club and is expected to act as their third-choice ‘keeper, behind Brazilian Neto and expected arrival Viviano.
It is a return to Florence for 34-year-old Lupatelli, who previously played for Fiorentina between 2004 and 2008.
The goalkeeper has also had spells with Roma, Chievo, Parma, Palermo, Cagliari and Genoa and was also a deputy to Viviano a couple of seasons ago at Bologna.
