Martin Jorgensen
Danish midfielder Martin Jorgensen's contract with Fiorentina expires in the summer of 2009, and with the season coming to a close many had expected the Danish winger to renew.
However, despite reports
However, despite reports yesterday indicating the sides had reached an agreement, Jorgensen has admitted the parties are still at an impasse.
"Nothing new has happened, we are in the same situation as before," the player bluntly told tv2.sporten.dk.
In February, the 33-year-old revealed that the club had agreed on a one-year extension, but salary demands were causing the negotiations to stall.
The former Udinese player joined the Viola in 2004. He has only made six appearances this season so far, after suffering numerous muscular injuries in the first half of the campaign and also being left out of the line-up as a tactical decision by coach Cesare Prandelli.
He has been seeing more time on the pitch recently, due to the season-ending injury to Mario Santana.
