Sampdoria Confirm Interest In Fiorentina's Da CostaThe Blucerchiati had been linked to the Viola defender recently. Now Marotta has confirmed these transfer rumours to be true by admitting that Da Costa is on their short-list.

The speculation that Sampdoria were interested in signing Fiorentina defender Manuel Da Costa has been proven right by the Doriani's general director, Beppe Marotta, thus proving that not all transfer rumours are false.


In fact Marotta cleared all doubts this afternoon as he admitted that the Blucerchiati are keen on signing the former PSV Eindhoven player.

"We're interested in him," confirmed the Sampdoria executive.

"We shall evaluate what we have to do quickly, but the negotiation could be concluded soon.

"We believe that the player is a very good element."

The 22-year-old player, despite being considered a very promising defender, has never made an impact in the Viola's squad and has rarely featured in their first team, but Sampdoria seem to believe firmly in his qualities and are ready to offer him an opportunity to prove his worth.
