Fiorentina defender Juan Vargas insists he is fully committed to the Viola cause ahead of this weekend's home tie with his former club Catania.
Vargas, who made the switch from Catania to Florence in the summer, has only shown occasional glimpses of the form that persuaded the Gigliati to pry him away from Sicily.
But the Peruvian is confident he is gradually settling in.
"I am getting used to my surroundings bit by bit and I hope to demonstrate that on the pitch,'' Vargas told the club's official website, www.violachannel.it.
"It is satisfying for me to see that my team-mates have faith in me and my understanding with them on the pitch is coming along well.
"The club have shown confidence in me and I am calm about my progress. I want to improve further and feel at ease in myself.
"I am expecting a good test against Catania on Sunday. (Catania coach Walter) Zenga and (Fiorentina coach Cesare) Prandelli are both top coaches but have very different characteristics.
"I am not sure what I will do if I should score this weekend but I will certainly give my all for my team.''
Fiorentina will be aiming to preserve their unbeaten home status tomorrow while continuing their assault on fourth place, currently occupied by Napoli who are one point clear of the Viola on 27 points.
Catania president Antonino Pulvirenti has expressed his delight after Zenga put pen to paper on an extended contract this week that will see him stay at the Rossazzurri helm until June 2010.
They have enjoyed a good season so far and currently find themselves in the top half of the table with an impressive 22 points.
"Zenga has confirmed the good feeling we had when he arrived here,'' Pulvirenti told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"We like his way of working and the fact that he has the desire to improve. He also keeps the group united. It was important for us that he has settled in well here in Catania.
"With time we have gotten to know each other better and our understanding has progressed. Zenga has obtained important results and has fully embraced our long term plans.
"Our programme calls for constant improvement but the priority remains our Serie A status which is part of the heritage of this city.''
Zenga's immediate goal will be aiming to avoid a fifth away defeat in Florence.
While the Elefanti have impressed at home they have struggled away from Sicily having not won a Serie A game on the road in 28 attempts.
Zenga will make a couple of changes to the side that narrowly lost 1-0 to AC Milan at the San Siro in the last round.
Defender Gennaro Sardo will serve a one-match ban so Matias Silvestre will take over in central defence while Jorge Martinez will replace the injured Giuseppe Mascara in attack.
Cristian Llama and Gionatha Spinesi join Mascara in the Elefanti treatment room.
Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli will have to make do without suspended midfielder Felipe Melo. Marco Donadel is the favourite to fill in for the Brazilian.
Juan Vargas is expected to come in for Manuel Pasqual at left-back in the only other change to the side that thumped Torino 4-1 last weekend.
