Mutu: Fiorentina’s Qualification Still A Possibility
Fiorentina drew with Bayern Munich 1-1 at home in the Champions League earlier tonight and Adrian Mutu spoke with Sky at the completion of the contest.
Adrian Mutu opened the scoring at the Artemio Franchi in Florence after just 11 minutes, in his side’s 1-1 draw with German giants Bayern Munich.
At the completion of the match, Mutu was interviewed by Sky Italia, and gave his thoughts on the matchday four clash. “We seem to struggle against the better sides when we have an advantage. We are a little naive at present, and we have failed to increase our lead when given the opportunity in this competition.
“We were great once again tonight, but similar to some of our other matches, we just could not get that decisive goal,” the Romanian added.
Fiorentina’s third draw of the competition means that they now have just three points from the opening four matches, as they find themselves in third place in Group F, five points adrift of both Bayern and Lyon.
“Sooner or later the wheel of fortune will turn on our side. We know what is expected from us, and we proved that we can match it with strong sides like Bayern, and we still have a chance to qualify from this group,” Mutu concluded.
Fiorentina host Lyon in matchday five of the Champions League in three weeks time, in a match that they must win to have any hope of progressing from the group stage.
