Former Fiorentina goalkeeper Giovanni Galli warned the squad to be very careful about Karim Benzema ahead of the clash against Lyon in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Galli is certain that Lyon’s experience in the Champions League could prove decisive against the Viola on Wednesday .
“The French side have been taking part for years and the habit of playing in such games is fundamental,” explained the Fiorentina legend.
“They have also always qualified from the group stage and they have been winning their league uninterruptedly for many seasons, even though lately they don’t dominate it anymore.
“They had some problems with the change of coach, especially following the departure of Houllier.”
Galli believes that apart from Juninho, who scored a brace last weekend, the Tuscan side must be careful about the main danger man Benzema.
“The main problem is that Juninho found the net again during last weekend’s game,” he said. “The Brazilian is deadly from the set-pieces.
“However, the decisive goal was scored by the main danger man, Benzema, who is the main rising star of the French football and who always does well in the big clashes.”
