Fiorentina defender Alessandro Gamberini is hoping to recover quickly from the injury he picked up with the Italian national team in order to help his club in the coming league games.
Gamberini spoke about the second minute injury he picked up during the match between Cyprus and Italy last Saturday.
"I went towards the ball without expecting any physical contact," explained the Fiorentina player. "I was going to fall due to an involuntary trip by my opponent and whilst I was falling down I used my hands to support me on the ground but I immediately felt that something was wrong.
"Now following the medical visits here in Florence, I know that there is no more damage, therefore I hope to return as soon as possible. If it was for me I would even play in five minutes time.
"My recovery is going better than expected. These are things that happen, now I just think about recovering as soon as possible."
On Sunday Fiorentina will face Napoli at the San Paolo stadium in the second matchday of Serie A.
"Sunday at Naples I expect that my team-mates go on the pitch with the right mentality," he said. "They are a very good team. Last season they defeated all the big teams and so for us it will be a very difficult game."
