We're Happy To Face Everton - Liverani Fiorentinamidfielder Fabio Liverani was happy about his side's 2-1 victory overRosenborg in the Uefa Cup, and looks ahead to the match away to Roma inSerie A with confidence.
FabioLiverani, who scored the opening goal in Fiorentina's victory overRosenborg tonight, was thrilled the team made it through to the last16, as he explained shortly after the end of the match.
"I came from a month without playing, that's noteasy," said the midfielder, who found out he was playing this matchonly a few minutes before the start.
"I tried to play simple passes, then we improved andthey got problems. We created a lot of chances, too bad about the goalwe conceded near the end. Everton are an important team, it's a joy toplay in a stadium like that."
Liverani then addressed Roma, Fiorentina's nextopponents in Rome on Sunday: "It's always exciting to play at theOlimpico. Roma are a great team, I saw them against Real Madrid. Theyshould be respected, but we have to go there and give our all."
TheItalian also stressed the necessity to maintain a lead in the leaguetable ahead of a chasing pack including European Champions Milan, whowill desperately want to overthrow la Viola in fourth place toguarantee qualification for next year's competition.
"We have a small advantage over Milan, and we want to maintain it until the end," he concluded.
