Mario Alberto Santana has been missing from the Fiorentina line-up since February, when he badly injured his knee, forcing him to miss the remainder of the season from that point.
According to the latest reports, his operation was a success, and his current rehabilitation program is coming along quicker than expected, so all is well for the player at present.
“Everything is good at the moment. I’m starting to run again, but the road to recovery is still a very long one,” Santana told the press.
“My goal is to return for the club’s summer retreat in July.
“The injury I suffered came at the worst possible time, as I had been playing well and on a consistent basis back then. Now it’s time to start all over again.
“It’s just apart of the game in my eyes, and I am confident of getting back to my best under [Cesare] Prandelli, who has reinvented me in a new role.”
Fiorentina will travel to Friuli this weekend to take on Udinese as they continue their pursuit for a top-four spot.
