Robbiati does not think that the Viola have enough star players within their ranks to improve their quality and fight for more important honours during the season.
Former Fiorentina player Anselmo Robbiati gave his opinion about the Viola's Champions League qualification chances.
The Tuscan outfit are currently fighting alongside Genoa and Roma for the fourth and final Champions League spot
in a race that will probably last until the final matchday of Serie A.
"Fiorentina are playing on the same level of Genoa and Roma, and they've been fighting for a Champions League spot for the past four years," Robbiati declared to violanews.com.
"In the second round the quality decreased because playing after Christmas is more difficult: everyone thinks about making points to save themselves and the quality is low.
"The Viola team are playing badly, but they're obtaining results. To improve in quality, it's important to sign players of more experience and quality. In this team they are all of the normal level."
During his long career, Robbiati had 160 appearances for Fiorentina in Serie A, where he scored 27 goals for the Gigliati before deciding to hang up his boots in January of this year.
