24 year old striker Daniele Cacia's future seems to be away from Fiorentina; the 24 year old striker would like to move to a team where he will have more chances to play; Catania seems his most probable destination, also because he could be part of the agreement for wingback Juan Manuel Vargas'transfer to Florence, but Torino seem interested too。
Matteo Ferrari's agent Gianni Corci has declared: "For the moment the player dosesn't have any contract with any club; Fiorentina? For the moment I haven't had any contact with them; recentrly I have talked to Roma executives, we were not that far and the experience teaches me that in football everything can happen"
Palermo have continued their rebuilding work for next season by completing the signings of Andrea Raggi and Fabio Liverani.
The Rosanero have much work to do ahead of the 2008/09 campaign, having sold Cristian Zaccardo and Andrea Barzagli to Wolfsburg, and with Amauri set to join Juventus any day soon.
Palermo have immediately replaced Zaccardo by snapping up Empoli right back Andrea Raggi.
“It is a great feeling,” Raggi told Calcio Parlato, when asked about his move.
“I am very excited to come to Palermo, which is a great place in every sense. I knew for a long time that the Sicilians were watching me and they came to an agreement with Empoli a few days ago, leaving me to settle terms today. It will be a four-year contract.
“To be the successor to Barzagli and Zaccardo will be a great motivation to me because they are top-class defenders.
“It will be tough, but I am here to do well and change this team’s fortunes. I don’t know any of Palermo’s staff personally, not even Coach Stefano Colantuono, but I have followed his career from Atalanta to Palermo and I look forward to working with him.”
Palermo have also moved to strengthen their midfield by snapping up Fabio Liverani on a free transfer after his contract at Fiorentina expired.
“I was ready to take a pay cut of 20 per cent to get a two-year deal, but all they would offer me was a single-year contract,” said Liverani, who was upset to have to leave Tuscany.
Andrea Barzagli insists that he is happy with his decision to join German club Wolfsburg from Palermo.
The 27-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best centre backs in Serie A, but he shocked the footballing community last night when it was revealed that he had rejected hometown club Fiorentina in order to join Wolfsburg.
"I am happy with my choice,” Barzagli said on Fiorentina.it.
“I will talk about my negotiations with Fiorentina a little further down the line when everything is calm.”
It seems that the reason for Barzagli opting for Wolfsburg was a financial one, as his agent Claudio Orlandini explains.
“Only a Florentine native like Andrea would have offered to accept half the offer that Wolfsburg made in order to wear the Gigliati shirt,” said Orlandini.
“He sent a clear message, but Fiorentina didn’t respond to that. Obviously I respect the club’s point of view and I wish them all the best.
“The difference between what we were asking and what they offered was minimal – it amounted to £100,000.
“Andrea was willing to give up a lot of money to play for Fiorentina, but they didn’t take our requests into consideration.”
Barzagli is currently training with the Italy national team in preparation for Euro 2008.
