Lokomotiv Moscow ‘keeper Ivan Pelizzoli has claimed that Fiorentina and Palermo are interested in his services.
Absent from Italy since his 2007 switch from Reggina to Russia, the twice-capped Azzurri international wants to go home.
“Fiorentina and Palermo have spoken to my agent who is trying to get me a club in Italy, their interest is real,” the 28-year-old told Stadio News.
Italian duo ‘want’ Pelizzoli
“However, there is nothing more than that at the minute as there have been no concrete offers from either club.”
Pelizzoli, who joined Roma in 2001 after a sensational campaign with hometown club Atalanta, is eager for Serie A football after falling out of favour in the Russian capital.
“My contract expires in December 2010, the problem is that I’m not playing,” he continued. “I’m actually watching games from the stands and that is why I want to leave.
“I wouldn’t even have a problem playing second choice behind two excellent goalkeepers like [Fiorentina’s Sebastien] Frey or [Palermo’s] Rubinho.
“They are two great clubs with great fans. At Palermo there is Coach Walter Zenga, a legendary goalkeeper while I was growing up.
“Then in Florence there is Cesare Prandelli who was my boss at Roma for just a matter of weeks. It’ll be good to work with him for a whole season.”
