Dario Dainelli: Morale Is Increasing At Fiorentina
The defender has given his thoughts on the Viola's current run of form...
Fiorentina were 3-1 victors in Bologna on Monday, gaining an important win at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara, which has boosted the Florentine club’s hopes of qualifying for next season's Champions League. The three points came courtesy of a brace from Adrian Mutu and strike from Alberto Gilardino..
The Viola climbed back up to fifth place with that win and seem to have conquered their poor period of form, which saw them lose three matches on the trot before claiming wins over Napoli and Bologna
"We keep working to improve,” Calciomercato quotes Viola defender Dario Dainelli as having said. “We did well and took few risks.
"The positive results have increased our morale and freed our minds. In Florence, it seems we can be up or down very quickly and so we need a little more balance."
Fiorentina's next match is against Lazio, whom they were hammered 3-0 by earlier in the season, being played off the pitch for the entire match.
"In Rome we played badly," admitted the former Brescia defender. "In the end we had no response and it was our ugliest [performance]. Now Lazio will come here during their negative period and they will have plenty of anger. It will be a difficult match."
Fiorentina will hope for a positive result against the Biancocelesti as they hope to repeat last season's feat of qualifying for the Champions League by finishing fourth in Serie A.
