After spending millions of euros to reinforce their squad for the Champions League, Fiorentina are seriously risking not being able to play their home games at the Artemio Franchi stadium.
Manager Mencucci expressed the club's preoccupation ahead of tomorrow's checks to the stadium by Uefa: "I am very worried about the check Uefa will make at the stadium tomorrow, because if the European norms will be applied rigorously then we will not be able to play the games in Florence.
"We will work day and night to make sure that everything goes right, the venue has to be adjusted as quickly as possible. It would be incredible if things went differently and I don't even want to think about it."
However, the Fiorentina management does want to stay optimistic. "I think that in the end we will get permission to play the preliminary round at the Franchi stadium. If tomorrow we get the permit it should be valid for the entire competition," Mencucci concluded.
