<>Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino has declared himself pleased with his work in the summer transfer window.
The Viola have been one of the most active on the market, having brought in players like Sebastien Frey, Stefano Fiore and Luca Toni (pictured).
"It wasn’t easy to work on a side that only escaped relegation on the last day of the season," said the former Lecce official.
"We also had 43 players on the books already but we believe that we, along with boss Cesare Prandelli, have done the very best that we could have done."
Although Corvino has been very busy over the last few months, he concedes that more moves could occur in January.
"We completed 40 deals in total, bringing in 12 players and getting rid of 28," continued Corvino.
"We will evaluate things again in the New Year even if I think I can say that this current side have a great base for the future.
"Fiorentina have brought in players with the right mix of quality, youth and experience."
The Tuscan outfit, who already signed Valeri Bojinov and Giampaolo Pazzini last January, also brought in fellow youngsters Riccardo Montolivo of Atalanta and Udinese’s Michele Pazienza last week.</P>
