Cesare Prandelli understands Fiorentina supporters are disappointed at losing Felipe Melo, but warns they need enthusiasm for success. “I know Florence and it won’t take long
to rediscover that magical atmosphere we have created in the last few years,” said the Coach as pre-season training began. “We can recreate that special alchemy between the
squad, the media and the fans. It’s true that an important player like Melo has left us, but we have others who can improve.” Melo was sold to Juventus for £21m including Marco
Marchionni, who reunites with former Parma colleagues Prandelli and Alberto Gilardino. “Marchionni is a player I had at Parma, he is good going forward and defending, while he
can play on the right or left. “[Cesare] Natali is a good professional with character and he completes our defensive set-up.” Nonetheless, the Viola have been very quiet on the
transfer market and director Pantaleo Corvino rattled off a list of the players he missed out on, including Roma duo Philippe Mexes and Juan. “We are evaluating some situations.
The plan is to improve the squad and we will do so if the possibility arises,” continued Prandelli. “I just hope the side is ready for the Champions League preliminary round. The
