The Romanian is keen on a quick return, but he is taking it easy as he doesn't want to risk another blow...
Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu admits he could be back in action within three weeks following the dislocated elbow injury suffered against Lecce at the weekend.
The Viola hit-man went down with a nasty injury as his side lost at home for the first time this season against the Salentini. Early indications showed the Romanian international was due to be sidelined for up to a month.
However, Mutu is being optimistic and he believes he will be back for his side within the next few weeks.
"I should be back within a month, but there is a good chance that I will return in three weeks," Mutu told Fiorentina.it.
"The doctors have told me that I don't have much chance of playing against Croatia in the friendly match in February.
"In any case, I don't want to risk anything."
Some reports have suggested an operation was needed, but the striker doesn't agree.
"I didn't have an operation for my knee injury, therefore I don't need one for my elbow," concluded Mutu.
The Viola travel to the San Siro to clash with Milan on Sunday. Cesare Prandelli's men are chasing the Champions League places.
Meanwhile, Giampaolo Pazzini has completed his move to Sampdoria and Emiliano Bonazzoli has headed the other way on loan.
