Fiorentina’s Osvaldo Struck Down By Injury
La Viola striker Pablo Osvaldo has been ruled out of the club’s final two matches for the year through injury.
Fiorentina are currently in fifth place on 29 points, following their comprehensive 2-0 triumph over Catania at the weekend.
The Viola are just one point adrift of the third and fourth placed sides, Napoli and Milan, who occupy the final two Champions League qualifying positions.
The Tuscan based outfit have two matches remaining for the year, a midweek clash in the Coppa Italia against Torino, as well as a trip to Sampdoria in the league this weekend.
For both clashes, the club will be without their promising young forward Pablo Osvaldo, who has been ruled out through injury.
The 22-year-old striker has had a tough time so far this season, having seen very little playing time due to the good spell of form Alberto Gilardino and Adrian Mutu are enjoying.
To make matters worse for the Italian, he suffered a thigh strain in training yesterday, which means that he is certain to miss the remainder of the year, capping off a fairly miserable 12 months for the talented hitman.
