Prandelli considers new system Cesare Prandelli must do without Adrian Mutu for a fortnight and could change Fiorentina's tactics against Atalanta.
The Romanian requires treatment for a thigh strain, while the visitors are missing captain Cristiano Doni for Sunday afternoon’s encounter.
“They are important players for their respective teams and this is going to be a balanced game,” warned Prandelli.
“Atalanta have an aggressive approach both when attacking and defending, but we must be the ones to dictate the tempo, aim for victory and use our heads. That’s because to just run at them would be suicidal.”
All Fiorentina’s hopes are to be pinned on Serie A now, as the 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich midweek all but ruled them out of the Champions League.
“We played a good hour against Bayern and most ‘big’ teams would’ve finished them off in that time. If you don’t manage to do that, then you have to maintain balance, not concede a goal that comes from two quick passes,” moaned the Coach.
“If [Mario] Santana is fit, then it is very likely we will use the same system that played against Bayern. If Santana is not ready, then we’ll take a different tactical approach with [Franco] Semioli on the right and [Stevan] Jovetic for Mutu.”
