Champions League football is on the horizon and the owners are looking forward to a good season. However, they have warned Viola tifosi that any trouble could see them quitting the club and banishing it back to where it was six years ago.
“The deal with Florence is clear, any Violence and the Della Valle family will be out in 24 hours,” Della Valle told GQ.
“I am really anxious to see the barriers go down in the stadiums and maybe that will happen in three years.”
The chief also spoke about why he chose to take over the club and he has moaned that profits are not great in football because the tax man eats most of it.
“Why did we take over Fiorentina? It was a team which needed to be saved,” added the president.
“Do you earn much in football? No nothing. The taxes are too heavy and then there is no sensibility towards the youth sectors and too many barriers between clubs and fans.”
I Gigliati are currently in Prague as they prepare to take on Slavia in the second leg, third round of Champions League qualifying.
Cesare Prandelli’s men take a 2-0 aggregate lead into the game and they are expected to make the group stages. |
