Fiorentina are keen to land Cosmin Contra after the European Championships and have already made contact with his agent about signing him on a free transfer.
The 32-year-old's contract with Getafe expires at the end of this month and he has stated that he will leave Spain, but has refused to reveal where he plans to go next.
According to Romanian news agency, Mediafax, Fiorentina are the favourites to land him, although Contra was not prepared to talk about his next move.
"On June 30 my adventure in Spain concludes. Fiorentina? I do not want to talk about any transfer until the end of the European Championships. I will not confirm or deny anything," he said.
Contra, who is currently on duty with Romania at Euro 2008, is not the only name being linked with a move to Fiorentina to fill a space on the right with former Anthony Reveillere and Dario Simic also said to be on their list.
A number of Romanian clubs have also been hoping to tempt Contra back home with his former club, Dynamo Bucharest and Poli Timisoara making enquiries.
