Prandelli Labels Roma Favourites
Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli has cleverly put the pressure on Roma by tagging them favourites for Sunday afternoon's Serie A clash.
It is second versus fourth at the Olimpico, and Prandelli has quickly labelled his team the underdogs in what is by and large a top of the table clash.
“Overall Roma have something more and that must push my players into trying to work as a team," he said. "We must avoid playing like individuals.
“We certainly want to cause an upset. It will be important not to lose our humility and keep trying until the bitter end.”
However, more than anything, he wants performance.
“I want to see an excellent game, because if you go to Rome and don’t play to the best of your abilities, then you risk a hammering,” he said.Fiorentina are coming under pressure from Milan in the race for fourth place, but Prandelli is not letting that anxiety get to his team, and is keen to take is game by game.
“There is still a long time to go before the top four places are assigned," he said.
"Every three days we have a crucial test to face and overcome, whether it be in Serie A or the UEFA Cup.
“We must not be afraid of any challenge and this encounter can prove to ourselves and others that Fiorentina can go head-to-head with any opponent, even a great side like Roma.”
