Struggling Fiorentina came from
behind Saturday to beat guests Atalanta 3-1 thanks to a brace notched
in the dying minutes by Giampaolo Pazzini.
The young striker completed the hosts' reversal after Romanian
Adrian Mutu immediately levelled Atalanta's lead from midfielder Giulio
Migliaccio on 24 minutes.
The Florence side are in second-last position with three points from 11 games,
having received a 15-point penalty in a match-fixing trial in the
summer that also involved AC Milan, Lazio, Reggina and Juventus.
The promoted club from Bergamo are surprisingly fourth in the Serie A with 17 points.
At the Artemio Franchi, Fiorentina squeezed the hosts in their
midfield through most of the second half, managing to clinch a deserved
sixth win in the season.
A late match at Rome's Stadio Olimpico pits third-place Roma
against struggling powerhouse AC Milan. The hosts look to moving within
one point of joint leaders Inter Milan and Palermo, who boast 24 points
from 10 games ahead of Sunday games at Parma and at home to Torino
respectively.
Milan lie fifth from the bottom on seven points, burdened by an eight-point penalty received in the summer's sports trial.
